Blackjack Tournaments
A blackjack tournament is an interesting twist on your classic blackjack game and it has become increasingly popular in the past couple of years. The basic principle is that you are competing against other players for a shared prize pool. There are a couple of different ways that you will find with online blackjack tournaments.
The first type of tournament usually involves 7 players at a table with several tables in the tournament. After a certain number of hands (usually 10), the player with the lowest total will be eliminated. This will continue until there is a winner.
The second type of blackjack tournament that you will find online involves just you playing against the dealer and you are trying to get on to the leaderboard for highest total. This either is accomplished by giving you a certain number of hands to play (like 50) or you will have a certain time limit to get the highest score. This time limit can be short, like 30 minutes, or you have until the tournament is over to post the highest score.

I have previous posts that reference the blackjack tournaments at RTG casinos such as Doyle's Room, ClubUSA or Rushmore Casino. They no longer offer blackjack tournaments. Here are a couple of places that do:

held here are the multi-table blackjack tournaments that I referenced above.

Here is the way these tournaments work. Each player will have to bet between the minimum and maximum allowed per hand and try to win the most chips. The tournament will consist of a set number of hands, a specific number of decks and up to 8 players can sit at a table.

the UK and European Blackjack visitors to the site, you can play at the

are between $5 and $15 and re-buys are between $5 and $10 depending on the
day of the week.

Friday at 8PM EST. You will be staked with 50 credits and highest score
wins the prize pool will be a pot percentage, which pays the top 41 player
scores. If you bust out, you can re-buy for $2.49.
Online Vegas alternates the tournament game between Vegas Strip Blackjack and Perfect Pair Blackjack, where you can place a sidebet that pays out when you pair your first two cards.
As of May 2011, Online Vegas is no longer accepting new customers from the United States; although current players can still participate in these blackjack tournaments.
5Dimes Casino Blackjack Bowl V
December 15th, 20115Dimes is currently the only place that I have been playing blackjack tournaments at. Simply stated, there aren’t too many online casinos that offer blackjack tournaments anymore. This means I haven’t had much to talk about, unless you want me to beat you over the head and tell you to play the 5Dimes blackjack tournaments every week :)
While that may be great for trying to rank higher in the search engines, its repetitive and unnecessary. Once blackjack tournaments become popular, I’ll still be here to talk about it. There is a reason that I like blackjack tournaments as much as I do.
Basically, because it is a niche game (like mobile blackjack), there are less professionals that are competing which increases the average Joe’s chance of winning.
I liken the blackjack tournaments at 5Dimes to a slot machine. Sure, there is a little skill when it comes to placing bets and playing your hand. But in the end, luck is going to play a very big part of the game. Not only are you competing against the other players’ totals, you have to win your bets against the dealer in order to advance. A player can get lucky and hit a BJ when they are in desperation mode with a very large bet. It’s all part of the game that requires a lot less skill to play then a poker tournament.

So there really is a reason for me to write a post today! The Blackjack Bowl begins at 5Dimes and you can be a part of the largest blackjack tournament that I have been able to find in more than a year!
